2023 Bootcamp Pastor Colin McLaren

I grew up in a good home with everything I needed.

I had a very small knowledge of the Bible and occasionally went to church when I was young with my Grandma. I completed school and college and was on track to a good future.

In my later teenage years I got involved with the wrong crowds and began to follow bad examples. My life spiralled out of control which led me to drugs, alcohol, crime and getting into trouble with the police. In the 1999 I became a father and this child led me to realise I can’t continue in the same way I had been living. I was tired, worn out and tormented because I wanted to change but I had no power to change. I had a court case pending and was heading towards a sentence. My desperation for help drove me to my knees on several occasions where I began to pray and ask the Lord to help me. After several of these desperate prayers I began to sense Gods help. I received a flyer to attend The South London Church in 2001.

I attended the service and gave all to Jesus and from that day I have never turned back. Jesus turned my life around, I got involved in ministry, outreaches, prayer meetings and everything that the church was doing. The Lord blessed me with a very good job and in 2002 I got married and we had 3 more children.

In 2007 I got sent out to Pioneer a church in Woolwich returned to become the Assistant Pastor of my Mother church for five years. I then took over the pastorate of Brixton church in 2013-2018 and then I took over The Preston church in 2018 to present. I am really excited by this opportunity to be able to help, inspire, encourage and impact the next generation for Jesus. I’m believing God that this week at bootcamp will be supernaturally influenced with life changing decisions being made everyday.
