Hi, my name is Harriet, I am a part of the admin team. But that is not where I started…

I first went to Bootcamp when I was 14years old, it was an incredible week. Pastor Artie Aragon was the Camp Pastor. He preached about different teenagers each night but there was one which stuck out to me. It was a boy who struggled with feeling of hatred towards himself, and he hated himself so much that he committed suicide.

During this time, I was thinking the same. I hated myself so much, there was nothing that I liked about how I looked, my personality, my life etc… I was self-harming, and the thoughts of suicide plagued my mind. I kept this hidden from everyone as I was a Pastors Kid, and I thought I would be judged.

That week was the start of a healing process. I gave my life to Christ not long after this week. I have not looked back since.

I attended Bootcamp the following years and cemented my relationship with God whilst listening to sermons. My friends that I made at Bootcamp, I have the same ones now.

Now being a worker at Bootcamp, it brings me such joy. Yes, it is a lot of work behind the scenes which many people don’t know but I do it for the teenagers. The ones who feel they are lost and alone. They can come to this camp and find Jesus for themselves.

I am enriched in my own walk with God when listening to sermons, being able to find him in prayer during the week. Also being part of the admin, we are able help each other and work together to get the endless list of jobs done.
